Giving Your Time to the NFA
The all-volunteer Board of Directors always welcomes the assistance of other volunteers to assist them on committees, event planning, public relations or doing periodic maintenance and monitoring of one or more of Newtown Forest Association properties.
Good Neighbor Program
Those of you who already walk on one of the many trails throughout our properties can help by just keeping the Board informed of problems that need remediation or suggestions for improvements. You can either call us and leave a message at 203-270-3650, send us a letter to PO Box 213, Newtown, CT 06470 or email.
If you want more information about a specific property contact us and we can make a property map available for you to use and provide other information about a property that you frequent.
Committee Involvement – The NFA Board established formal subcommittees related to Membership, Stewardship and Land Acquisition Committees. Each committee is led by a Board member and will be comprised of other board members and other community volunteers. Each committee will focus on developing operational recommendations and will report directly to the Board for approval of an action plan. If you have expertise relating to our work, such as accounting, appraisal, forestry issues, gardening, legal matters, public relations, or surveying, we could use your help.
If you or your group is interested in volunteering to offer your assistance or would like to propose and execute a conservation, maintenance or gardening related project on one of our properties please CONTACT one of our Board members.
Eagle Scout Projects
The NFA has had a long history of providing Eagle Scout candidates with project opportunities related to our properties, including trail mapping, building and maintenance. We currently have town Board members that are actively involved in local scout Troops and PacksFeel feel free to CONTACT us to learn more.
